Tatiana Querote

Hi my name is Tatiana and I am traveling with my dog Rodrigez. We are now in Corsica. I love it here , it’s so beautiful and I feel safe wild camping and cycling around. Before Corsica,  I cycled Italy which didn’t feel as safe as Corsica. After Corsica, I will probably go to Sardegna and then who knows. My dog motivates me when I am tired and when I think I have no energy  Rodrigez  is always ready to go.  I am happy I have him with me because he has made me laugh so many times. On this trip, I discovered new parts of my character. I feel I’ve gotten stronger and I’ve improved my knowledge of Italian and French. This is a special experience that makes my independence grow. I highly recommend solo bicycle touring.

Harriet Ballantyne

Harriet Ballantyne

My name is Harriet and I thought I’d get in touch about my cycle touring.  I finished university in 2013 and didn’t fancy getting a ‘proper’ job so I decided to try some cycle touring. I have since done two short tours in Italy and SE Asia, and am currently cycling across Canada as my first longer trip, a trip that I’m blogging about for the first time.  I love hearing all about the other women cycling around the world, it gives me confidence knowing there’s more of us out there! Particularly when most non-tourers simply comment that I’m crazy when I tell them what I’m up to!

Colleen AKA Super Biker Woman

Colleen

I’m Colleen, aka Super Biker Woman. No, I didn’t give myself that name. My friend’s 4 year old son called me Super Biker Woman (he was Super Cowboy). He’s in high school now and no longer goes by Super Cowboy, but I am still Super Biker Woman. I’ve done several solo bike tours as well as some that have started out with a friend, but ended solo (nothing nefarious, I just have more time). Last summer I did 2 1/2 months in Europe. This summer (in fact, in 16 days) I leave for a solo ride over to McCall, Idaho to do the Idaho Hot Springs Mountain Bike Route. After finishing that, I’ll head to north central Washington for awhile, then return home to Olympia, Washington via the John Wayne Pioneer Trail from Ellensburg to the other side of the Cascades. This will be my first tour involving a large amount of off-road riding. I’ll be riding my Surly ECR named Mama Cass, pulling a BOB trailer named Johnny P. We’ll be covering around 1700 miles. It’s always a great day when I meet other solo women cyclists!

Alyson Peel

Alyson Peel

Greetings,
I took up cycling about 3 years ago after hurting my back while working for USAID in Afghanistan. Last Jan/Feb I cycled the south island of New Zealand solo on my bike Friday. This January I cycled the carretera austral in Chilean Patagonia, again solo on my bike Friday. I am currently solo-cycling the great divide mountain bike ride from Mexico to Canada.  When I am not cycling, I am a neuroscience instructor for the University of Arizona. My blog is a bit raw but honest.

An avid photographer, advocate for the environment and lover of picnics in the park, you can read all about her adventures, photographs and musings, on her blog.

I’m Fredrika. I’m from Sweden. And I’m in love with pedaling my bicycle. Or well… I’m in love with the places, people, adventures and all the unforgettable stuff pedaling my bike leads to. Nothing in this world gives me the same sense of freedom as loading my panniers with food, water and (of course) crazy amounts of chocolate, and then pedal away on some road to small to exist on any map. I still feel like I’ve just gotten started on my world tour, and I’m so ridiculously excited to know – that I really DON’T know what’s in store for me these upcoming couple of years.’
